Innovation is not just about coming up with new ideas. It’s about strategy, acknowledging best practices and sharing them amongst colleagues. It’s about looking for smarter ways of doing things that can save costs, increase customer engagement, reach new markets and being creative.
Although many companies claim to be innovative, I think that when people think of innovation they think of companies like Apple or Google and tech based organisations. Surely every company should be aware of and promote their staff to think outside the box and contribute to the products and services that their business has to offer. I know of a few companies that now promote innovation in their business by rewarding staff for coming up with bright ideas, hence is innovation not intrinsically linked with leadership and employee engagement?
If you have any thoughts I’d love for you to share them.
